Sheela Ready For Lip-lock

As all talk about Priyamani's bikini act in Drona, they have all forgotten the sensual and sexy act of Sheela in the film Maska, as a matter-of-fact the film also become a hit and by no means can one discount the contribution of Sheela.

The Malyalee kutty has been extremely cooperative with some good glamour show right from the beginning of her career, it is just that no one has sat up to take notice of her abilities, but now all that is likely to change, with Sheela openly declaring that she will go in for a lip-lock if the script of a film demand.

This statement from her will surely make producers make a note of the actress, one is sure she will give a run for the money for many heroines if given an opportunity.

Nayantara Made To Sleep

Read just like that the above statement may conjure up some naughty thoughts, but the fact is that in one of the shots in her upcoming film with NTR she is make to lie down and look like she is sleeping while the hero comes near her cheek and kisses her, though the shot was a simple one it took several takes and retakes to be okayed.

In all the processes of being the shots being Okayed and kisses being planted Nayantara went off to sleep on the sets, it required a alert crew member to notice this and wake up the sleeping beauty, by the time she got up Nayan realized to her relief that her shot was okayed.

Sunil A Woried Man

Sunil is sure a worried man as when the going was great he had made massive investments in stocks and lands, but now because of the recession all the values of these investments have comedown and their value is much lower than what the actor had originally thought.

Sunil is now contemplating his next move to protect his investments, in the meanwhile all these loss on investments have forced the actor to drop all the plans to produce a movie with himself as the hero, the comedian now says that he will produce a film later when things look a little better and the economy improves.

As of now Sunil seeks to concentrate on his films and compensate for his loss.

Priyamani In water Again(Mitrudu with Balayya)

Actress Priyamani seems to have taken a liking for water like no other heroine as done before, even before the images of her Bikini act in Drona are wiped out and even before we forget her sizzling act images of her next film are out.

This film called Mitrudu with Balakrishna has Priyamani doing her water act again, as in Drona she is a doing a song fully drenched in water for this film too, and going by what is available to see it again looks a sexy number.

Sure Priyamani seems to have decided to use water to the fullest extent to sexpose. If this water show continues she will soon be labeled the water baby!!

Sheila's Escapades

Hot heroine Sheila recently had the escapade of her life when she went on a shooting to Malaysia, a group of Indian guys spotted the heroine in a crowd when she went out shopping alone after a hard day work of shooting, the guys realized that Sheila was alone and started harassing her.

They followed Sheila wherever she went and tried to make contact with her, the Indian guys also passed lewd comments in bad taste and the poor Sheila was petrified by all this. She somehow reached her hotel room unscratched and safe and vowed never again to go alone in a foreign land, she says she has learn her lesson the hard way.

Trisha's Enjoy With New Boy Friend

The news about Trisha's month long vacation to Australia has been creating some interesting headlines. The actress set out on this journey soon after her birthday celebrations and prior to that, photographs of the actress with some of her Chennai based friends were splashed all across the media.

Prominent among those friends seemed to be a guy called Sydney, who was seen at very close quarters with the actress in all the photographs. That was then.

Again a month latter photographs of Trisha enjoying her holidays in Australia were shown for all to see, and here again Sydney was hanging around Trisha in close quarters (arms thrown all around Trisha et al).

All this closeness between Trisha and Sydney has many eyebrows raised; insider news is that they are a pair and having an affair and did have a torrid time in Australia. No one knows the real truth, let us wait for Trisha to throw some light on this issue.

Genelia Links Hot With Imran Khan

Genelia at-last seems to have found her love interest and the man in the scene is her Jane Tu Ya Jane Na costar Imran Khan. It is believed that the hot vibes between the two started during the shooting of the film, but it is all becoming known to all only now.

In the meanwhile, Imran apparently has said goodbye to his present girl friend with whom he has been having an affair for some years now, what clicked between Imran and Genelia seems to be their chemistry which was apparent in the film too.

Genelia and Imran of course are just new into the relationship and these are testing times for them, it will be some time more before they will officially go public about their relationship.

Mahesh Babu's Family Problems?

It is known news that 'Prince' Mahesh Babu has been off the hook from the past one and a half year when it comes to his screen presence and while many have been thinking that he was waiting for the right kind of script and movie to come about, there seems to be another buzz about it.

Sources say that things have been a bit bumpy between Mahesh and his wife Namratha since the time of 'Athidhi' and due to this, he was shuttling between Hyderabad and Mumbai quite often. There are those who say that the issue of Amrita Rao also was said to be a cause for that.

Tiffs between husbands and wives are quite normal but since Mahesh is a celebrity, everyone wants to relate to it. We hope that all this is just a hoax and there is no element of truth in it, for now all eyes are on the new venture that Mahesh is going to start along with Trivikram Srinivas.

Mumaith Khan In Somajiguda Flat

Her life has been quite a journey and is no less than a movie. she came in as the simple item girl featuring in spice numbers but in no time, she began progressing to become a heroine and today she has become a name to reckon with when it comes to item songs and special roles.

She is none other than Mumaith Khan and recently she got into news for the very right reason. Apparently, the pretty girl seems to have a strong liking for Hyderabad and as she has mentioned in her previous interviews, Tollywood seems to be pretty much her home.

There is news that Mumaith Khan and her sister Zubain Khan have bought this flat in Somajiguda and started living together. Currently Zubain Khan is acting in Posani Krishna Murali's film. The reason for buying the flat in Somajiguda is to be closer to film city to suit their hectic schedules so guess the neighbors would be one lucky lot.

'16 Days' Review: Hard To Run

Film: 16 DAYS
Rating: 1.25/5

Banner: Cosmos Entertainment
Cast: Charmee, Aravind, Kota, Dharmavarapu, Manorama, Jayaprakash and others
Music: Dharan
Editing: J N Harsha
Cinematography: Sukumar
Producers: D Y Choudhary, P Mahesh Babu
Story, Screenplay, Direction: Prabhu Solomon
Release date: 20th Feb 2009

It was with great hype and hoopla that the film '16 days' was making rounds given the sizzling stills of Charmee and a rather unusual title that depicted suspense, thriller elements etc. so how credible was all this let us go and see.

Story
Gurumurthy (Aravind) is a happy man since he gets his first job after years of struggling and getting a good education. He stays at his relative's place who is currently on the run since he has not paid the loan back to Yadagiri (Kota) a dreaded don. Yadagiri has a sworn enemy in the form of Rami Reddy (Jayaprakash) who is successful in killing Yadagiri's son and enraged by this, he swears that before the 12th day ceremony of his son, he would kill Reddy's son. A twist of tale happens and Guru is brought to Yadagiri and the villain assigns him the task of assassination. All this apart, there is Angel (Charmee) who has a strange thing about spending the night at strangers houses when they are not at home. She bumps into Guru's place just like this one day and in no time they get together and even start liking each other. Meanwhile, Guru has his own pressures of reporting to the job and assassinating the son of a dreaded goon. So what is the link between 16 days and the story? Is Guru successful in his mission? All this forms the rest of the story.

Performances
Aravind was bare-chested most of the movie, and he was alright. Charmee was live and bubbly throughout but then there were times when she was doing a bit of over action. Kota was his regular self and he has done this before, Dharmavarapu was barely tolerable with his comedy, Jayaprakash was barely having a presence. The others need no mention here.

Music was fine in songs but background score was annoying. Editing was not at all smooth, the pace of the movie was moderate but then the depth of the subject was missing.

The director's idea to come up with a suspense thriller can be appreciated but he should realize that to get the real tension and excitement building, the script has to be tight and the screenplay has to be executed perfectly. Both failed in this aspect. Also the frames were so abrupt and quick that it is a major strain to the eyes.

Analysis
The film suffered its major blows due to the haphazard presentation and the lack of flavor and depth in the subject and its presentation was quite obvious.

The director attempted to come up with something different with Telugu rap songs and somewhat unusual scenes to evoke comedy but then this experiment was not well polished. Even the dubbing aspect was not in sync with the film and the cracks were visible. Some of the scenes looked quite amateur and the director's immaturity was evident in few shots. Given the fact that it is a bi-lingual, a strong influence of Tamil faces and backdrop is felt.

The film does not have the kind of oomph or sizzling treat that was expected prior to its release so if you are expecting masala then this is not the one. The film will find it hard to run even for 16 days given its low content and quality of presentation.

'Drona' Review sexy movie

Film: Drona
Rating: 3/5

Cast: Nitin, Priyamani, Kelly Dorjee, Mukesh Rishi, Seeta, Siva Prasad etc
Editing: Gowtam Raju
Music: Anoop Rubens
Dialogues: Harsha Vardhan
Choreogrpahy: Amma Rajasekhar
Art: AS Prakash
Producer: DS Rao
Story, Screenplay, Direction: Karuna Kumar
Released On: 20th Feb 2009

Nithin has been awaiting a success from quite long time and the movie 'Drona' with many commercial elements pumped in hopes among many. The name of the director Karuna Kumar is much publicized stating that he is the disciple of evergreen successful director SS Rajamouli. Priyamani's glamour show for first time also pulled the heads of mass audiences positively. Let us peep into the details of the outcome of Drona.

Story:
Drona (Master Sai Krishna) is the son of a sincere police officer (Mukesh Rishi). He shares ample love with his mother Meenakshi (Seetha). But a small mistake by him welcomes the anger of his father who batters him blue and black. Followed by that incident, Drona runs away from his house. He grows up (Nithin) and emerges as a robber. He happens to meet his parents and lives with them accidentally, keeping his past in secret with them. Why he maintains that secrecy? Where did he live all these years? What made him turn as a hardcore robber? Will the parents come to know that the boy for who they have given shelter is their own son Drona? That forms rest of the plot.

Performances:
Nithin has improved a lot especially in dance. He is showcasing many complex dance movements with ease and agility. But he still needs to groom his diction. Again he made a mistake by picking up a wrong line which doesn't suit him.

Priyamani is the main attraction for this film as she revealed herself in bikini for the first time on silver screen. Unfortunately there is nothing else from her other than that glamour show. Although a National Award winning actress she has no big scope to act here.

Mukesh Rishi appeared in positive character role and Seetha is apt in her part. Siva Prasad and Kelly Dorjee have played antagonists and there is nothing special to speak about them as they did run-of-the-mill stuff.

Comedian Sudhakar, after a very long time, appeared in a guest role as doctor.

Music is ok with some songs but the background score is cacophonous. The dialogues are also not so exciting and the direction on a whole is amateurish. Some scenes resembled TV serials with extra length.

Flaws:
1. The scene where Kelly Dorjee holds Seetha in front of a shopping mall while Nithin comes out swiftly to save her - is a perfect TV serial styled, with too many close up shots.
2. The introduction scene of Nithin with SUV and helicopter chase is overdosed and unconvincing.
3. Micro Capsule injections used by antagonists are also ludicrous.

And director has taken liberties to lift scenes from the film 'Batman' (during robbery) and also from the popular Yana Gupta's 'Bapujee Jara Dheere Chalo…' song (on Rakhi Sawanth while she pours beer on her legs to quench the thirst of lusty tongues).

Analysis:
It's an upside down effort. Only the much publicized Priyamani's bikini song should pull mass crowds to theaters. And the film hardly finds repeated audiences.

The comedy is also weak although Venu Madhav tried to spill some laughs. The track is written very weak and hence things didn't work at all. Sunil appeared in some scenes and ok. Arundhati comedy is grooved on Venu Madhav which would have got extended in proper way and complete manner.

First half of the film moves heavily with lot of non-exciting scenes. Second half has action elements but those aren't in tune with the interest levels of audiences. The overdosed subject with an island background has diluted the tempo of the film on a whole. Climax is weak and boring.

To sum up the only saving grace for this film to reduce the loss to maximum extent is Priyamani's glamour show on posters.

PRP general secretary Aravind Direct question to CPM

The Praja Rajyam general secretary and brother-in-law of Chiranjeevi, Mr Allu Aravind, on Monday asked the CPI(M) state secretary, Mr B.V. Raghavulu, to publish a book on why the Left joined hands with the Telugu Desam. The Left had earlier published a booklet, Babu Jamana Avineethi Khazana on the “corrupt regime” of the Telugu Desam president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu. While addressing a media conference at the PR central office on Monday, Mr Aravind wanted to know whether the CPI(M) was ready to apologise to the people for its volte-face on its allegations on the TD. He made it clear that if the CPI(M) was not ready to bring out a book as demanded by the PR, his party would publish a detailed booklet citing the allegations made by the Marxist party against Mr Naidu’s regime in a bid to expose the double standards of the Communists. Interestingly, the ruling Congress has already decided to reprint the CPI(M)’s booklet on Mr Naidu’s rule and distribute it among the people. Taking strong exception to the remarks made by Mr Raghavulu against the Yuva Rajyam president, Pavan Kalyan, Mr Aravind said since the Grand Alliance was unable to take off, the Marxist leader was getting desperate and even going to the extent of abusing PR leaders. “Despite ideological differences, the Left forged an alliance with the TD only with a vindicative agenda,” he alleged.

Meanwhile, he alleged that Chandrababu Naidu, while turning Kuppam into a hitec city, had completely neglected the welfare of Girijans in the State. Coming down heavily on Left parties, he said Left parties were completely opportunistic. Pavan laughed at being said that he dosent know Politics, He said that he is here only to serve people through Prajarajyam party.

The charge-sheet would cover the “rampant corruption” in irrigation projects and dismantling of police and other administrative systems built over a period of time. “Chief Minister Y.S. Chiranjeevi & Aravind discussed the names of the LS & MLA candidates

HYDERABAD: There was intense speculation in the political circles on Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) general secretary Allu Aravind air-dashing to Allagadda to meet his brother-in-law and PRP founder Chiranjeevi. After receiving a phone call from Chiranjeevi, Allu Aravind rushed to Allagadda to deliberate upon the party affairs with Chiru. Chiranjeevi, who is on his tour in Kurnool district, played down Allu Aravind’s sudden visit to Allagadda. “There is nothing special in this,” he said. Party sources, however, said Aravind went to Allagadda with the names of contestants for around 15 Lok Sabha and 75 Assembly seats. The PRP is in a hurry to release the list. Both Chiranjeevi and Aravind discussed the names of the candidates for Kurnool district too, according to sources. As the Congress and the TDP are likely to field stalwarts and prominent leaders in various segments, the PRP, according to sources, is contemplating to field freshers in the polls. According to sources, Chiranjeevi may contest the Tirupati Assembly seat while Aravind is likely to contest either from the Machilipatnam or the Narsapur Lok Sabha seat. Though Aravind is keen to contest in the next elections, some of the party leaders are of the opinion that he should keep away from electoral politics to effectively coordinate the party affairs at the hustings. Though there was speculation that Chiranjeevi had invited Allu Aravind to discuss the latest political developments, including the BJP factor, Chiranjeevi once again reiterated that there was no truck between the PRP and the BJP.

Plot:The film is about sincere police officer, who gets encouragement from the Chief Minister for his encounters. In the process of eliminating baddies he loses his wife (Sanjana). How he eliminates the terrorists with the help of his crew is the rest of the story.

Overall synopsis:

Sathya (Dr Rajasekhar) is a sincere police officer and he earned the image as an encounter specialist officer. Chief Minister (M Satyanarayana Rao) encourages Sathya for his courage towards terrorists. While eliminating the terrorists Sathya loses his wife (Sanjana). Sanjana played a nice role as the wife of Rajasekhar. Though, he had only one duet with her, the director chose to introduce some scenes in between the song's stanzas. He then kills a corrupt police officer who murdered his wife.

Even though it was a crime, he comes out of that case with help of Chief Minister. Then he continues his operation to catch the dreaded terrorist Dr Ansari (Atul Kulkarni) with the help of his team member consisting of Sivaji, Sai Kiran, Siva Reddy and Neetu Chandra. Is he able to eliminate the terrorist with the help of his team, and what are the consequences Sathya faces? To find out, go and watch the movie.

Performances:

Dr Rajasekhar has played the role of young police officer role in his own style. Sai Kumar has lent his voice once again for him. Bollywood beauty Neetu Chandra has acted as one of the team members of Rajasekhar and the Telangana dialogues didn't suit her. Congress senior political Minister M Satyanarayana Rao has portrayed the role as sincere Chief Minister with his own dialogue delivery. His desire to become Chief Minister has been fulfilled at least on silver screen. The introductory scene of Rajasekhar was picturized in a satirical manner to counter Chiranjeevi.

Milind Soman has acted well as the terrorist (Ranavir) in this film. Senior actor Ahuthi Prasad and Sayaji Shinde also sleepwalked. Sivaji, Siva Reddy and Sai Kiran have acted as crew members in small roles in support of Sathya.

Technical Departments:

Background score is weak and direction also didn't meet contemporary requirement. The film is a remake of Hindi film 'Khakhee'. Overall, there is no interesting moment in the film. The background music is very poor. The film’s story is nearly matches to recently released JD Chakravarthy’sSiddham’. In that film also Jagapati Babu played the role of encounter specialist.

In ‘KhakeeAmitabh Bachchan acted as old-police officer, but in ‘Satyameva JayateDr Rajasekhar projected himself as angry young man as in his hit films ‘Magadu’ and ‘Ahuthi’.

The film 'Satyameva Jayate' has grabbed some media and public attention with some unrelated incidents. This being Rajasekhar’s own film, he planned this film after joining the Congress Party. People thought that there are a few scenes counter to Chiranjeevi and other political parties. Neetu Chandra had some conflict with Rajasekhar and Jeevitha. Neetu Chandra even filed a harassment complaint against them, which was taken up by media in big way recently. All these incidents have grabbed some public attention towards the film.

Over All:

The direction of Jeevitha Rajasekhar is just okay. There is nothing new in is film. The film was made to impress mainly mass audiences. The film didn't reach the audience expectations. Those who want entertainment with lots of emotions, it is a sure no matter film.

Plot:The film is about an encounter specialist who gets the tributes from higher authorities for his sincere service. His braveness causes many problems to anti social elements. In this process he loses his wife and how he takes his revenge on the enemies is the crux of the story.

Overall synopsis:

Dayanand (Jagapathi Babu), a sincere encounter specialist gets support from the public and as well as from higher authorities in police department. His bravery act stands as threat for mafia people. The city Police Commissioner (Kota Srinivasa Rao) encourages him a lot. His wife (Sindhu Menon) also co-operates him very well.

When the city Police Commissioner (Kota) retires and a new Police Commissioner takes the charge in his place, he discourages Dayanand. Instead of Dayanand the new Police Commissioner encourages Salim Ali Mushtaq (Kota Prasad) an assistant to Dayanand and another encounter specialist, who has passion for publicity from the media and is intent on increasing the number of encounters.

In the process of his encounters, Dayanand loses his wife. How Dayanand takes the law into his hands and eliminates the mafia terror in his own style.

Performances:

Jagapathi Babu has acted very well as encounter specialist. His physical appearance and body language have perfectly suited for this character. Sindhu Menon does very well as a Tamil wife. Subba Raju and Shiva Prasad have appeared in cameo roles and they act well.

Kota Prasad (son of Kota Srinivasa Rao) did a good role in this movie and he is suited for that. Some comedy was played by Narsing Yadav and Mukul Dev in a few scenes. It’s a good effort by JD Chekravarthy. Satirical dialogues on Chiranjeevi, YSR and Balakrishna's political campaigns are good. Telephonic conversation between servant maid and Dubai don is interesting.

Technical Departments:

This film is a remake of Hindi film 'Ab Tak Chappan'. JD Chakravathy has adopted the film in an interesting manner. There are no songs and separate comedy track in the film. Comedy is mixed in the narration with little humor. Editing by Bhanodaya is okay and cinematography of Bharani K Dharan is good. The back ground music by Amar Mohale is good.

Jagapathi Babu has played the same role as played by Nana Patekar in the Hindi film. But Jagapathi Babu has some softness in his body language and hence the charisma is lesser when compared to Nana Patekar. Overall, it's a good effort by JD Chakravarthy and Jagapati Babu. Producer Kiran Kumar should be appreciated to make a film like ‘Siddham’.

Over All:

It’s a film for mass audiences as well as class audiences and it can be watched once for a change.

The story has contained all the required ingredients like love, comedy, sentiment, and melodrama. The first half is just like a feel good and youthful love story. During the second half, the movie takes the turn of family oriented movie with full of sentiment and melodrama. The movie runs with a slow narration and is prolonged in some areas. Story, screenplay and dialogues are reasonably good. The second half is directed well while handling emotional scenes but, romance scenes are not up to the mark.

Shankar Ehsaan Loy scored excellent music. Songs are picturized well. Sirivennela and Chandrabose had written good lyrics. Vijay C. Chakravarthy’s cinematography is excellent. Srikar Prasad’s editing is good.

P R P leaders think that if this is revealed then Congress and T D P would copy them, so they intend of releasing it at appropriate time. But P R P leaders should understand that Congress party has left with no promise as it has pinned into many issues and gave promises, coming to T D P they have given everything at free of cost. What more P R P would have instore for them, it would be wise that P R P would put their much hidden manifesto out so that if T D P or Congress copy that would be to the advantage of P R P. In fact, YSR might have already obtained the contents of Chiru's manifesto through his moles in PRP, though Chiru may think he has kept the manifesto under lock and key. PRP Chief Chiranjeevi Invoking Goud to have tie up with BJP

One is desperate to prevent his political oblivion and the other jittery over his political debut. Inconcerted moves by a veteran politician and a novice, a behind-the-scenes attempt is on to bring about an unlikely alliance of the Prajarajyam and the Nava Telangana Party with the Bharatiya Janata Party in the state. While officially the three parties are denying any such move, sources in the PRP and NTP said Chiranjeevi has deputed T Devender Goud to woo the BJP into striking a poll alliance or at least a seat adjustment. "To take on thetwo major forces in the state -- the ruling Congress and the TDP-TRS-Left combine -- Chiranjeevi has directed Devender Goud to explore some sort of arrangement with the BJP," sources told the TOI. It was Devender Goud who had negotiated with the BJP on behalf of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu after the general elections in 1998 to forge an alliance, which lasted for five years. "Goud who is finding himself politically marginalised after quitting the TDP and forming his own party, which failed to take off, is the mediator," the sources said. According to the sources, Goud held talks with Chiranjeevi and Naga Babu on the issue on Monday after which the NTP leader confabulated with BJP floor leader G Kishan Reddy the same day. "Devender Goud will lead a delegation to New Delhi to meet BJP's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani and party president Rajnath Singh on Thursday," the sources said. Goud told at a press conference on Tuesday that his delegation will offer the support of the PRP and NTP to the BJP on the private members' bill to be moved in the Lok Sabha by the right-wing party on Telangana on February 20. "But the agenda also includes forging some kind of understanding for the elections," sources said. The state BJP, however, is publicly maintaining that there is no question of any understanding with the PRP-NTP combine and that it would go it alone. But indications are that it is not averse to exploring a few options to expand its base in Andhra Pradesh. The PRP and NTP have already announced that they will have a tie-up for the coming general and assembly elections.

Survey Report says PRP would win in 205 Assembly seats

Actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi is planning to field Lok Sabha candidates in Telugu-dominated areas in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Orissa and Maharashtra, where his movies draw huge crowds. His party, the Praja Rajyam, has identified 10 LS seats in Karnataka with box office collections of Chiranjeevi blockbusters as the barometer. The party is conducting surveys in the other states to locate more constituencies where it can convert the applause of audiences into votes. “Our candidates will contest from Mysore, Bengaluru South, Bijapur, Kolar, Gulbarga, Bellary, Chikmagalur, Raichur, Chikballapur and Chitradurga parliamentary seats in Karnataka,” said Mr Swami Naidu, Praja Rajyam leader. Interestingly, even while trying to spread its influence outside the state, the Praja Rajyam has scaled down its ambitions in AP. The party had claimed earlier that it would win more than 250 seats in the Assembly polls. In fact, Chiranjeevi’s brother-in-law, Mr Allu Arvind, went to the extent of saying that the party would win 292 seats, leaving Pulivendula for the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, and Kuppam for the TD chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu. However, on Tuesday, the Praja Rajyam leader, Mr Parkala Prabhakar, said the party would win 205 seats in the coming polls. He cited a recent survey conducted by the party as the base for the prediction, which is modest by Praja Rajyam standards. The survey conducted in 294 constituencies revealed that the the party would win 80 seats in Telangana, 90 segments in coastal Andhra and 35 seats in Rayalaseema.

PRP Urges a Probe by a Sitting SC Judge

HYDERABAD: The Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) urged Governor N D Tiwari to recommend the President of India to order an inquiry by a sitting judge of the Supreme Court into Satyam and Heritage scandals. Party president Chiranjeevi today called on the Governor and submitted a memorandum to this effect. Senior leaders of the PRP P Upendra, Kotagiri Vidyadhara Rao, Ch Harirama Jogaih, C Ramachandraiah and KSR Murthy were also present. Chiranjeevi also urged the Governor to allow prosecution of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as prima-facie evidence was there. Speaking to the media later, Chiranjeevi said the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) did not have the moral right to speak on corruption as its president had sown the seeds for it. The Satyam scandal began in the TDP regime and the Congress Government had fostered it, he alleged. The Government deliberately shielded former Satyam chairman Ramalinga Raju from the inquiry by the SEBI and other Central agencies, he alleged. The Government had awarded a gigantic project like the construction of Metro Rail to Maytas corporation, even though it did not have the capacity to carry out such a project, Chiranjeevi said. Meanwhile, in the memorandum submitted to the Governor, Chiranjeevi stated that an unholy nexus had developed between the politicians and the corporate firms and the Satyam scandal was an example. Even though it was a fact that the CID was not capable of handling cases like this, the Chief Minister had entrusted the case to it and the action was aimed at pre-empting the intervention of Central organisations like the SEBI, the SFIO and the Income Tax department, he alleged. Chiranjeevi alleged that the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues were coercing the companies which had benefitted to invest part of their gains in the companies floated by his kith and kin. As far as the selling of shares in the Raghuram cements and the Jagati publication were concerned, gross violation of the laws of the FEMA, the FDI and the Income Tax departments had taken place, Chiranjeevi alleged.

Common symbol for PRP possible; How?

Megastar Chiranjeevi is still struggling to get a common election symbol for his Praja Rajyam Party. He moved the court and managed to get directions to Election Commission to consider it. Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao has given a free advice to Chiranjeevi on this. "Since Chiru is talking too much against Maha Kootami, it is better he join hands with the Congress. He will not only get a common symbol, hand, for his candidates, but can also get an Assembly ticket without any hassles. It is a different matter whether he will win or not," he said. Though it is KCR's crooked and cruel joke on PRP, political observers say PRP would not have any truck with Congress at all before elections. However, there is every possibility of PRP having post-poll understanding with Congress, if there is a hung Assembly and Congress falls short of majority. How? Since there is no common symbol, it would be easy for the Congress to lure a few PRP legislators to form the government!

Chiranjeevi says, I'll Never Act Again

Praja Rajyam party (PRP) president, Chiranjeevi, has said that he will not act in films any longer.

“I have listened to the producers in the past 30 years. Now, I will listen to you and serve you as a politician”.

Chiranjeevi began the day’s programme of his ongoing Praja Ankita Yatra in the district with a visit to Jillellamudi Ammavari Temple, near Bapatla, at 1 p.m.

He is scheduled to cover Pedanandipadu, Pattipadu, Edlapadu, Chilakaluripeta and Narsaraopeta.

He accused the Congress governments at the Centre and in the State of being incapable of announcing better minimum support price for paddy while the farmers of Punjab enjoy a higher MSP for wheat.

“All the projects are aimed at commissions and none of them is announced with public good in mind,” he alleged.

Outlining the broad strategy of his party, he said PRP would accord priority to irrigation projects if it came to power.

The PRP would chalk out an action plan for effective water usage and added that the party would take up certain projects on priority basis based on the immediate needs of the people.

He asked the Government why it had made lower budgetary allocations for irrigation projects if it was committed to complete them in the scheduled time.

Chiranjeevi alleged that more than 6,000 farmers had committed suicide during the Congress rule. Alleging that free power being supplied by the Government to farmers was of low-quality in odd hours, he promised to deliver 10 hours of free power and quality power if PRP came to power.

Meanwhile, two persons were injured when a motorcycle and a bicycle collided during the Praja Ankita Yatra at Edlapudu.

Chiranjeevi Confident of Victory

Prajarajyam Party will contest from Lok Sabha seats in Orissa, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in the areas where sizeable population of Telugu-speaking people reside, party founder K. Chiranjeevi announced on Friday.

Expressing confidence that the party would be voted to power in the coming elections, he decried the attitude of the TDP and the Congress towards formation of separate Telangana and promised to pass a resolution in the Assembly as soon he came to power.

Talking to mediapersons at Visapalem, he termed the statement of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on separate Telangana in the Assembly on the last day of the session a deliberate attempt to divert the attention of the people and the opposition parties from the corruption charges on Saakshi.
‘Irrelevant statement’

Mr. Chiranjeevi, before setting out on the Praja Ankita Yatra on the fifth day from Visapalem near Narsaraopet, took a dig at Dr. Reddy saying: “If he could not get separate Telangana in four and half years, what can Congress do in 45 days?”

Anxiety over PRP President Chiranjeevi health condition

Anxious moments were witnessed here on Thursday morning after television news channels flashed the news that the blood pressure of Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi had gone down and would impact his yatra. But the reports turned out to be baseless after doctors attending on the star clarified that his B.P. and temperature were normal. A team of doctors led by Mr. Chiranjeevi’s brother-in-law, a Hyderabad-based personal physician, M. Venkateswara Rao, had been attending on him for the last four days. A doctor accompanying the actor said that slight fluctuations in the blood pressure was normal during the course of a long tour. The PR president prevents dehydration by regular intake of water, butter milk and coconut water, though the doctors had been urging him to avoid butter milk. “There is nothing to worry,” he said.

PRP stages dharna against auction in vizag

The district rural and urban units of Praja Rajyam Party staged a skit and dharna at the Visakhapatnam Urban Deveopment Authority headquarters here on Wednesday in protest against indiscriminate sale of government lands at the behest of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy to raise funds for the exchequer. The PRP leaders took part in a skit to demonstrate how prime lands including hillocks were auctioned at throwaway price to people who matter in the corridors of power. ‘Direct action’ Led by rural and urban district convener and former MLA Ganta Srinviasa Rao, the protesters threatened to resort to `direct action’ if the VUDA did not stop sale of lands and make public the lands sold and layouts approved so far. The party leaders also shouted slogans against land pooling, irregularities committed in Matrusri Cooperative Society layout and the regularisation of a site earmarked for a park to a Congress MLA. Mr. Srinivasa Rao in his address said that the VUDA had deviated from its objective to provide house-sites and houses to the poor and middle class at an affordable cost and accused it of becoming a real estate agency. He said there were a lot of irregularities land pooling at Paradesipalem, regularisation of unauthorised layouts and sale of bulk lands to people connected to the ruling party. He said the VUDA had no right to spoil the natural splendour of the city by auctioning hillocks and demanded details on the extent of land it had acquired from the farmers and sold during the past four and a half years. Among others, former MLA Gannababu, former chairman of the AP Warehousing Corporation Satti Ramarkrishna Reddy, Shirin Rehman, P. Ramana Kumari, Kolla Guruvulu, Villa Srinivasa Rao, Chintalapudi Venkataramaiah, Sandilya and other PRP leaders were present.

Praja Rajyam spokesperson says, Party has clarity on Telangana

Praja Rajyam official spokesperson Prabhakar Parakala on Wednesday reiterated that the party had total clarity on the Telangana statehood issue and respected the sentiments of the people. “Other parties are using the sentiment only to attain power by hook or crook. The Telangana statehood issue is being raised since the last four decades only for attaining power,” he remarked. Talking to newsmen here, Mr. Prabhakar said, “Praja Rajyam will definitely strive for the formation of separate State.” He said the PR if elected to power in the State would support the party, which was ready to give grant statehood to Telangana, at the Centre. He also reiterated that there was no question of forging an alliance with the BJP in the coming elections. Faults TRS Finding fault with the Telangana Rashtra Samiti for forging an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party and the Left parties, he questioned the TRS about how it would achieve Telangana State when the CPI (M) had vehemently opposed it. He also reminded that the TDP was against Telangana State and it did not utter a word on the issue during the Yuva Garjana in Guntur district. Terming the grand alliance ‘anti-Telangana’, he predicted that it would fade out even before the elections during the sharing of seats. He said the vote for grand alliance was nothing but vote for the Congress. Expressing concern over the Assembly proceedings and trading of charges between the Congress and the TDP and neglecting the public issues, he appealed to the people to teach a fitting lesson to both the Congress and TDP in the coming elections. He alleged that both the Congress and TDP have spoiled the political system in the State for their selfish gains. Separate manifestos Mr. Prabhakar said the PR would announce election manifesto for each Assembly and parliamentary constituency separately and disclose later how the party would solve them if elected to power. He was confident of the PR getting a common election symbol in the State. PR core execution committee chairman A. Srinivas and district convener Velichala Rajender Rao were also present.

Chiranjeevi Tour in the delta region jitters Congress & TDP

The mega success of Chiranjeevi’s Praja Ankita Yatra in the delta region of Guntur district is sending jitters in not only the ruling Congress camp but among the opposition TDP circles as the latter is banking heavily on the region to maximise its strength in the coming elections. So far, the TDP leaders have thought that the PRP would, at best, win over Kapu voters which would help them win the elections in triangular contests as a majority of the Kapus are known supporters of the Congress. But, to their dismay, Chiranjeevi’s meetings in Tenali and Repalle in the last two days have attracted large crowds from all sections. Chiranjeevi was forced to address at least half a dozen meetings in Tenali town alone as a large number of people did not allow his convoy to move on. “I cannot say people are coming to see him only as a film star. People appeared eager and wanted something fresh. Chiranjeevi’s tours will surely cause a major impact on the chances of all the parties,” admitted a senior TDP leader from Tenali. Analysing the situation, the senior leader on the condition of anonymity said the state is witnessing a very strange political scenario this time round. “Forget about the state, we ourselves are not comfortable in our bastions particularly after Chiranjeevi’s tour,” he explained. The TDP had organised Yuvagarjana meeting about two months ago in the district to set the tone for the elections, especially in Kamma strongholds of the region. The roaring success of that meeting where Balakrishna made his first political speech had buoyed the TDP leaders. Even party chief Chandrababu Naidu started making tall claims about party position in Krishna and Guntur districts. But analysts surmised that the TDP’s calculations were based on the erosion of Kapu votes in the Congress even as they conveniently ignored the likely impact of PRP on other communities. The stupendous success of Chiru’s visit has indeed put the TDP leaders in a piquant situation, an analyst said. “We will have a relook at our strengths and weaknesses and prepare a realistic assessment on the latest situation. It doesn’t mean that we are worrying too much,” said TDP district chief Prattipati Pullarao. He said they would bounce back in the delta region where it had lost six out of the seven constituencies in the last elections.

Chiranjeevi promised that Dr Mitra would contest from Nellore?

PRP president Chiranjeevi promised that Dr Mitra would be given Lok Sabha ticket from Nellore, but Chiru's coterie led by Allu Aravind is of the view that Dr Mitra is not strong enough to fight against a mighty politician like N Janardhan Reddy, who wants to contest from Nellore this time. Moreover, Dr Mitra needs to spend a lot of money on the elections, which he cannot do. So, it is better to pick up another Reddy candidate like Raghavendra Reddy, Aravind is learnt to have suggested. However, Dr Mitra categorically said he would either contest from Nellore or confine himself to party office in Hyderabad. "It is for Chiranjeevi to decide," he is learnt to have said.

Megastar Chiranjeevi and Power Star Pavan Kalyan are now busy to resolve the issues faced by their fans as they are not satisfied by way in which fans are being treated. They informed media that on Thursday a meeting would be held in which over 5000 fans would be attending meeting in which all their grievances would be considered and they would do their best to resolve the issues.

Chiranjeevi says Women should be more active in politics

GUNTUR: “We are for social justice, but women cannot be given 33 per cent tickets as they are not coming forward to play an active role in politics,” said Praja Rajyam founder Chiranjeevi here on Tuesday when asked if they can expect 50 per cent of PR tickets. At a press conference in Ethukuru on the city outskirts, after completing his road show in Guntur city at 2 a.m., Mr. Chiranjeevi said “Women are not active in politics and seat reservations cannot be done based on population figures, as the winning chance of candidates was more important.” Upbeat Claiming that the Mahila Rajyam unit of the party was more active politically than any other unit, he did not foresee any major role for them at this point. Sounding ecstatic over the crowd turnout in Guntur district and the city, he said that voluntary flocking of people to the roadshow was a good sign and predicted that all this would get translated into votes. Without outlining his party’s stand on the proposed Coastal Corridor project, he opined that industrial development was essential, but not at the cost of livelihood of local people like fishermen and those depending on plantations on the coast. The Congress government tried to occupy the entire land on the coast in the name of the project, which he said was wrong. Satyam probe A definite ‘time-frame’ was essential for the CBI inquiry into the Satyam Computers scam and prior to that a sitting Supreme Court judge must probe the entire episode, including that of Maytas. Both the Congress and TDP were trying to evade a discussion on Satyam by raising frivolous issues in the Assembly, he said.

PRP & TDP activists clash at Narakoduru

TENALI: In what seemed to be a precursor to simmering conflict between the two dominant castes in the coastal districts, rival groups of PRP and TDP clashed at Narakoduru and Angalakuduru villages en route the Praja Ankita Yatra being undertaken by Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi in the district. Trouble broke out at Narakoduru junction late last night when a handful of PRP activists trying to erect a flex banner of Mr. Chiranjeevi were stopped by TDP supporters. On Tuesday morning, a sizeable number of PRP activists reached the place and had heated arguments with the TDP supporters. Police stepped in to prevent further trouble. Tension prevails At Angalakuduru, one PRP activist was injured in clashes between TDP and PRP supporters on Tuesday morning. Tension has been prevailing in the village since Monday night itself after TDP supporters objected to erecting a flex sheet. In the melee, the youth allegedly manhandled the handful of PRP workers. On Tuesday morning, a group of PRP youth stormed into the village and picked up a verbal duel with the TDP supporters. The agitating supporters pushed each other and when things appeared to spin out of control, police stepped in and quelled the tension. Even before the yatra rolled into the village, a heavy police bandobust was put in place by Superintendent of Police Mahesh Chandra Laddha. Sensing trouble, Mr. Chiranjeevi avoided the strong rhetoric against the TDP and instead harped on the youth and women power.
