DARSI (PRAKASAM DISTRICT): Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi today assured that if voted to power, his Government would provide free education to girls who are economically backward.

He was addressing public meetings at Darsi, Addanki and Ongole today as part of his ongoing Praja Ankita Sabhas. He said that the girls needed education to support their families and that education should not be a burden to the family, Chiranjeevi stated.

Flourosis affected areas of the district were not getting any attention, he alleged. To see that the flourosis victims were not crippled by the disease, the party has announced a scheme for the victims of Nalgonda district, he recalled and stated that a similar scheme was needed in the all flourosis affected areas, he desired. Since the ruling party leaders would not get much out of small schemes, they were reluctant to take them up. The ruling party is creating all sorts of problems to his campaign programme, the PRP chief alleged.

At Markapuram there were three grounds.

Our party leaders applied for all of them.

But the ruling party leaders also applied, stating that they need the grounds to play cricket, he alleged. Authorities cut power supply and the PRP leaders were forced to depend on power generators, he complained.

Speaking at Addanki, Chiranjeevi praised the people of the town for their service to the Telugu language.
