HYDERABAD: The Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) had more clarity than any other party on the Telangana issue and it would abide by its earlier statements, said PRP youth wing president Pawan Kalyan. He said the PRP would work for the social development of Telangana. Speaking to reporters here today, Pawan Kalyan stated that he would not contest in the upcoming elections but remain an activist to work for the success of the PRP. He said the party would participate in ‘Yuvatarang’ programme organised by the Election Commission of India (ECI) and encourage youth to get registered as voters. The ‘Yuvatarang’ programme took off in all colleges across the State today and will conclude on January 24. Students can register themselves for voter identity cards at their colleges. Earlier, Pawan Kalyan called upon Chief Electoral Officer I V Subba Rao and appreciated the initiatives by the ECI, including the setting up of drop boxes at public places and `Yuvatarang’ programme in colleges to encourage public to register for voter identity cards. He requested the CEO to make principals and managements of different colleges responsible for registration of students for voter identity cards. He also urged the authorities to announce rewards for colleges and ensure registration of all students.
