Will Praja Rajya Party president Chiranjeevi contest elections from one of the constituencies in Telangana?
Answer seems to be yes, if one were to read between the lines of Chiranjeevi’s statement. He said he would contest from two constituencies for the Assembly elections: one constituency would be Tirupati which he had already confirmed. “The second constituency could be from Telangana. Any way, we will be releasing the first list of 100 candidates by March 10,” he said.
Initially, there was a talk that Chiru would choose his second constituency from his native district of West Godavari. However, with his latest statement, it is now apparent that Chiru would choose a north-Telangana constituency. But, why? The reason is simple: PRP is struggling to find a footing in Telangana districts, despite its hectic campaign and if Chiranjeevi himself enters the fray in Telangana, it would galvanise the cadres, so that it would benefit the party to get a few seats.
