Mallana Release in June

Vikram's much-anticipated super hero film Mallana (Kanthaswamy in Tamil), which was slated for May 29 release, has been postponed to June 12 as the post production work, including graphics and animation, is taking longer than expected, sources said. The audio launch has also been rescheduled to May 10.

Post-production work is going on at breakneck speed and the visual effects are expected to take some more time. Produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu and directed by Susi Ganesan, Mallana was filmed in five countries and is a superman-like story with a logical twist. Fantasy and realism are mixed in the plot to make it a commercial entertainer. Shriya plays the female lead.

Vivek, Santhanam, Vinod Raj, Y.G. Mahendran, Arun Mathavan, Vinayak and Alex will be seen in supporting roles. Vikram’s father Vinothraj and Malayalam actor Indrajith (elder brother of actor Prithviraj), play important roles in this film which has music by Devi Sri Prasad. Notably, Mallana's theatrical rights and satellite broadcast rights were sold last year for stunning amounts.

Kshanam Oka Yugam is ready

Kshanam Oka Yugam, the dubbed version of Tamil super hit Ajay-Sri Sri starrer directed by Mamani, will be released in Telugu by Altaf Ahmed under the banner of Silver Screen Image in the second week of May.

Starring Anu Haasan (cousin of popular actress Suhasini) as a bomb squad specialist and Riyaaz Khan as a police commissioner, Kshanam Oka Yugam is an action thriller, revolving around how a group of policemen deter an anti-national group's efforts to explode a powerful bomb in the city.

The movie was a major hit in Tamil and the makers are expecting to repeat the success in Telugu as well.

Anjali Devi Interview

She is Mother Sita for telugu audience, Sati Sakkoo Bai….not only that ‘Suvarna Sundari’ also. In her long journey of 63 years, she has played many great roles and conquered the hearts of audience and made a permanent place their. Even though it is delayed, recently she has been awarded with the “Doctorate” by Acharya Nagarjuna University. This prestigious award was given to her through the hands of Lok Sabha speaker Sri Somnath Chatterjee in the programme conducted in Nagarjuna University Campus. On this event an interview was conducted with Anjali Devi.

Q What were your feelings on receiving this Doctorate award?

I feel happy. Somnath Chattarjee is the VIP of the University and Guntur District also. He mentioned all the movies and characters done by me in his speech. It made me still more happy to know that he remembered all these about me.

Q Could you tell us about your earlier awards?

I have received Raghupati Venkaiah Award, ANR International Award, Nata Sikhaamani Award in Tamilnadu, Annadurai Awards. I also received many more awards from Cultural Societies.

Q What is it that that is making you happy at this age?

People are respecting me for the past 63 years. I know that they will respect me even after my death. Till today people are respecting the good roles and good movies made by me. Getting respect through those movies makes me still more happy. I have understood that whenever a person gets an opportunity and does some good the result of that good will definitely come to us some day.

Q Could you tell us about the feelings you experienced when you made the movie “Suvarna Sundari’ under your own banner Anjali Pictures?

The movie Suwarna Sundari made by us with Nageswara Rao as hero was a grand success. The same movie was made in hindi version also with the same Nageswara Rao which was also again a great success. The music director Adi Narayana Rao got an award for the music composed in that film. In tamil we made this movie with Gemini Ganeshan, there also it ran successfully. Suvarna Sundari is golden memory to our banner. We established Anjali Pictures in 1950 and made 25 movies in telugu, hindi and tamil languages. Anjali Pictures became prosperous with its hit movies like Paradesi, Anarkali, Bhakta Tukaram, Sati Sakku Bai, Runaanubandham, Mahakavi Kshetrayya.

Q Who was the Director who directed many movies under your banner?

Vedantam Raghavaiah garu.

Q What was the last movie made under your banner?

“Chandeepriya” movie which was directed by V. Madhusudhana Rao and Shoban babu as hero.

Q What would you say about your husband Adinarayana Rao garu?

He is a great music director. He gave beautiful music. Everybody knows that Anjali pictures are all musical hits. He created permanency to the movies through his music.

Q You have produced one T V Serial?

Yes. We have produced ‘Shirdi Sai – Parti Sai’ serial in 5 languages. Along with telugu we have done the dubbing in hindi, tamil, italy and English also. It was well received by many number of audiences.

Q You have introduced your grand daughter as heroine. Why did she not continue?

Rama Naidu garu called her got her screen test done. But for some reason it did not happen. Later she acted in a kannada movie ‘Abhinandane’. After that she got offers in some movies but as she was not comfortable, she did not continue. At present she stays in New York. Prior to that when she did her ‘arangetra’ in New Jersy, Padmini, Vyjayantimala witnessed her programme and complimented her. This incident made me feel happy.

Q Your recently seen movies?

I have seen ‘Dasaavataaram’ tamil version. As an artist, audience, I felt very thrilled. That boy Kamal Hasan has acted well. I told him the same thing over the phone. In the same way I saw Rajnikant’s Sivaji movie and liked it. Rajini’s is a super style. Isn’t it! The movie was also very rich. Like MGR and NTR, Rajini is also a big commercial hero.

Q Who are your present generation favourite hero’s in telugu?

I don’t see them as hero’s, I see them as my children because I have acted as a mother to them. Now those hero’s children also became hero’s. I see them as my grandchildren. Now a days everybody are doing very actively and energetically. My wish is that all of them should do good pictures and become great actors and at the same time be a good human being also.

Q Your occupation these days…

From my childhood I have much Bhakti Bhava towards God. I am spending my life with spiritual thoughts and spiritual activities. Whenever I find time, I go to Puttaparti and visit Satya Sai.

“Mirtrudu”

“Mitrudu” movie starring Bala Krishna and Priyamani as hero and heroine, directed by Mahadev and produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad is ready for release on May1. The censor formalities have been completed for this movie. In this regard the producer of this movie informed, that the censor members appreciated the movie stating that in the recent times they have not seen such good family story. He also spoke that the movie is upto the expectations of the Bala Krishna’s fans. There was good response for the audio of this moive and we are expecting the same good response for the movie also. “Mitrudu” has received U/A Certificate.

Surya Interview

Surya is one of the few Tamil actors who won the hearts of Telugus. After Rajnikant, Kamal Haasan and Vikram, he is the only Tamil star who has huge fan base in Andhra Pradesh. After the success of Ghajini and Surya S/O Krishnan, he is back with another film -Veedokkade, dubbed version of his huge Tamil hit, Ayan. He talks about the film, which is releasing on May 1st in this exclusive chitchat. He spoke to Telugucinema.com at Elle Suits Hotel in Hyderabad. Here are the excerpts from the interview..

Lets begin with Veedokkade. How important this film is to you?

Ayan, the Tamil film version of Veedokkade, is biggest hit in my career so far. This is masala entertainer with realistic touch. It is a movie with intelligent screenplay and the protagonist involves mostly in mind-game. There is magic in the movie that makes the audiences glued to the screen till the last scene. Although it is mass entertainer, we never did go overboard - always grounded with logical scenes.

Tell us about your character.

Veedokkade is based on the real life events - culled from various stories appeared in the magazines and newspapers. I played a Con man.

Is there any inspiration for the character?

I don’t know how K V Anand created the character but I took the inspiration from Catch Me If You Can. While I was doing it, I kept De Caprio’s role in my mind. Also Amitabh Bachchan’s films were another inspiration. Even though Amitabh sir played roles that are completely commercial, he brought something realistic approach to them and some dignity to it. I tried to put that in this film. Even some lab technicians commented similarly. They might have seen hundreds of films in their life time, their appreciation made me really feel good that I brought naturalness to the role.

What are other Unique points of the movie..

We shot the movie mostly in forign locations like in Namibia, Africa and Malaysia and introduced Yamakashi style of fights. A foreign stunts choreographer did the fights and they have come out so well. And there are two high points in the movie, both happen without my character’s involvement.

Heard that you wanted to do the other character in the film?

Yes. In fact, I loved the role of a character called Jagan and expressed my willingness to that role. A comedian has done it now.

You keep changing your looks and style in every film.

I have been ardent fan of Kamal Haasan sir. I like the way he transforms to each role he does in every film. Even if his film fails, he doesn’t hesitate to come up with another novel look or unique character. He inspired me to do work hard and do something different.

How did you achieve the look of a teenager in Surya S/O Krishnan?

Usually Critics make me achieve that kind of hard work but this time my costume designer’s comments made me to work hard to really look like a teenager. The designer teased me that we actors just wear short dresses to look like a teenager without changing our look of physique. So I took it as a challenge and lost 10 Kgs in 22 Days. That did the trick.

How did you lose 10 Kgs in 22 Days? Can you share that secret with us..

I followed General Motors Diet Plan. But I changed it to suit to my body requirements by adding some chicken intake and some carbs. I had burnt 1000 Calories daily. Should do workouts, should take more water and also should have rest with sleep of 6 -7 hours. I used to have 75 Kgs then, and come to 64 Kgs. I am maintaining that same physique now.

Tell us about the six-pack abs..

It is Aamir sir (Aamir Khan) who helped me in achieving that. He gave his trainer. With inputs from Aamir, I did achieve it. He was undergoing for eight-pack abs for Hindi version of Ghajini. So he helped me out.

Which Ghajini did you like - the Hindi version or Tamil version?

Hindi film. Because the Hindi version has lot more new things, and the budget is huge. I liked the changes that are done in Hindi. I believe Aamir Khan pulled it off single handedly. His dedication to a film is amazing. I know how hard it is to achieve such 8-pack physique especially at the age of 40+. He is amazing guy.

How romantic you are in real life?

I am very boring person in real life, not romantic.

Then how did you woo Jothika.

Opposites attract. Probably she liked me I was shy and reserved person in real life.

You did multi-starrer movies earlier but now you are too big star. Will you do such movies now?

Sure. I do films to please my audiences. I will see that every movie that I do should entertain my audiences and live up to expectations they put on me. If it is going to be entertainer and my role is good, I won’t mind doing two hero roles.

Who do you rate the best heroine among your co-stars?

I like everyone but Asin is really good person. It is tough to achieve what she did so far. I genuinely feel she has guts to dream big and she deserves all the success. Trisha is a good actress, she has proven it with time and again and won lots of awards in Telugu and Tamil. Tamannah is just 18 but she has got sincerity that I believe will her take to heights.

Are you net Savvy?

Recently that I am glued into webworld. I have my own Orcut community. I regularly surf the web and connect with that community and also check new movies details on IMDB. And also check my mails. Occasionally I do read film related websites in Tamil and Telugu. Then I have lots of Camermen friends who give me links with their videos on You Tube.

What do you think the reason for Surya S/O Krishnan not doing well?

Lot of factors work for a hit movie. How you market a film, the story, the packaging all matters. I know it didn’t do well in AP but I am really happy with the film. I got lots of female fans after this movie who are related with my character. Girls and boys who have lost their fathers spoke with me. Also it was Gautam Menon’s tribute to his father. I loved the dual roles. In Tamil, we made profits. It collected more than Rs 25 Crores.

When are you going to do straight Telugu film..

I can’t tell the exact time but will definitely do very soon. In the past, I had discussions with couple of directors. Hope something materializes that would be a very special film. But I can promise that I would try to dub for films from next movie. I am now learning the language.

What are your next films..

I am doing my next with K.S.Ravi Kumar sir in which I am playing a role that has gray shades. And there is a film with director Hari in which I play a cop.

Allu Arjun with Vishnu

Arya together with Trisha is acting in a Tamil movie called “Sarvam”. Vishnuvardhan is directing this movie which is planned to be released on May 15. The news is that after this movie the director Vishnuvardhan is going to make a film in Telugu with Allu Arjun, under the banner Universal Media. Bhagawan Daanayya will be producing this movie. As Allu Arjun is busy with the movie “Arya-2”, Vishnuvardhan will be starting the proposed movie with him after the completion of “Arya-2”.

Ali as hero in “Muchchataga Moodu”

Ali won the hearts of the audience as a hero also, apart from winning their hearts as a comedian. Earlier he was acting as a hero in few films once in a while, but now the interesting thing is that he is acting in three films as a hero. Out of those three movies the audio of “Nachaav Alludu” has been released recently. The audio of “Muchchataga Moodu” movie is also ready to be released very shortly. Apart from these two movies, Ali’s third movie “doshi” is also getting ready for its release. Keeping all these three moives aside, he is also working in another movie as hero, which is coming up under the banner “Kalasaadhana”. The shooting of this movie will be commencing from June 4.

Her acted movie “Aparachitudu” in Shankar’s direction and in vikram’s combination brought her recognition not only in south India but all over the world. After that the movies she acted did not help develop her career. In the moment she was thinking how to increase the market range, she got a good opportunity for a glamorous character in the movie ' A AA E EE '. She is expecting through this movie that she will get another good commercial break. Born in Ratnagiri, near the Mumbai-Goa highway, she came to Mumbai first and then came to Hyderabad and got success (Jayam), and later also moved to tamil and kannada industry. In the moment when she is bringing momentum to her 2 years slow career, MAA stars journalist has taken her interview.

Q. You are looking glamorous in 'A AA E EE ', different from your Homely trend!

A. Yes, in 'A AA E EE' my character Ramya is very glamorous and stylish. I acted to match my character.

Q. You look very beautiful in the songs that were filmed on you… ?

Thanks. In 'A AA E EE' my song along with Mr. Srikanth "achchaTa muchchaTa, mila mila meenaakshi" was done in Sri K. Raghavender Rao’s style. This movie will give me a nice commercial break.

Q. This movie caption is “Athadu, AAmme, Enthalo EEme”! Who are you in these two characters?

A.Who am i? Let this beautiful suspense remain. I am acting as a mysterious, glamorous and beautiful trendy girl. More than this, I would not like to reveal nothing about my character.

Q. Between yours and Meera Jasmine’s, which one is dominating character?

A. Are you trying to put up a fight between both of us? Both our characters are equally important. They characters are not there just to put up two girls there. The story demands these two characters. Both the characters are good and will bring good name to both of us.

Q. How is your first movie experience with Sri Srikanth?

A. As you all know that Sri Srikanth 100th movie “Mahatma” has recently begun. That means 'a A i ee' is his 99th movie. As a senior actor and though acted in so many movies, There is no change in him. He is a very good human being, very sincere and honest person. I learnt a lot of things by working with him together.

Q. About director Sreenivas Reddy?

A. I should have done with him in the movie “Yamagola malli modalayindi”, but I could not do as the call sheet dates clashed. I accepted once he offered me “Ramya” character in this movie. He proved that he could do family entertainment movies. He directed this movie also very well. A AA E EE will be a very big hit movie.

Q. Are you satisfied with your career?

A. Yes, I am very satisfied with my career. Sri Teja’s “Jayam” created me a very good image. With Sri Shankar’s “Aparachitudu”, he broke my holy image and made me a glamour heroine. Thanks to Sri Shankar.

Q. After “Aparachitudu” I think may be you did not get necessary following and stardom?

A. You might be feeling that way with a few flop movies after “Aparachitudu”. I am regularly working and also last year I rejected about 15 movies in telugu. I got heroine oriented, suspense thriller movies and many other movie offers. Those were not satisfactory to me. If I rejected 15 movies imagine my guts.

Q. Who is your favorite actor?

A. Sharukh Khan

Q. Did u ever fall in love during your college days?

A. I had small infactuations but never seriously in love.

Q. Are you going to have love marriage or arranged marriage?

A. Currently my attention is on achieving a bright career not love and marriage.

Q. How did you spend your first remuneration?

A. I gave it to my parents. I don’t know how they spent it.

Q. Your dream role?

A. I want to do a positive character with a negative touch.

Q. What is your stratergy while choosing a new film?

A. I first see if they have the capacity to shoot and release the film. Then I will agree after I read my character, then director, hero and other characters. This 'A AA E EE' will give me good commercial break. It will give me an opportunity in many movies on big banners.

Venkatesh’s Interview

Venkatesh’s Career started with “Kaliyuga Pandavullu”. Making improvements from movie to movie with unique stories, he is shining with super hit movies. Recently he also received a State Nandi Award as best actor for his excellent performance in the movie “Aada vari maatalaku Ardhale verule”.

Far away from the happiness, by wins and loses or through awards and realizing, daily through his contemplation that real and permanent happiness is within oneself, Venkatesh stopped responding towards material things long time ago, but he is never negligent in discharging his responsibilities as a human being.

When asked for interview for the newly released website www.megastar-2.blogspot.comof Movie Artists Association, as a member of the association he gave us his valuable time for this good interview. Please read those excerpts.

Q. What are the details of your new cinema?

A. We are making this movie under the direction of Mr. Srinu Vaitla. We will let you know complete details soon.

Q. If the combined remuneration of hero’s, heroine’s and director’s is exceeding the cinema business amount do you think multistarer will come?

A. If hero’s and director’s can come to an understanding either after completing the cinema business or after movie release and share percentage profits then multistarer will come otherwise in Telugu it is very difficult for multistarer’s to come.

Q. What are your interests other than movies?

Spirituality. I now know that happiness & bliss is not outside but within me. I enjoy myself by seeing at my happiness, experiencing and feeling it. That does not mean that I forget my responsibilities. I fulfill my responsibilities as a son, as a father, as a husband and as an actor even as I continue my spiritual journey.

Q. Since you are in Spiritual path will you act in any spiritual movies in future?

A. Definitely I will act. I am thinking of playing as Vivekananda. I will do if the script is satisfactory. We need good script.

Q. What is a good cinema in your opinion?

Good and bad are relative and change according to time, trend and situations. What is good script 5 years ago may not be that good now. In this season what stood as the best cinema, might become normal cinema after 4 years. Every now and then even if a good script comes we may think otherwise. In one mood we might think a normal subject is good one. Just imagine what happens when a person sees different angles as an actor, critic, audience and producer and judges it. It is luck that sometimes in this state of confusion too we manage to get hit pictures.

Q. What is the one thing that makes you happy?

A. In the early age of my life, knowing that God is not outside but he is within me and in every one, makes me very happy.

Q. If God asks you to desire a boon then what would it be?

A. When god already gave everything then what is there to ask. We all came from him and we’ll all go back to him. There is nothing for us to desire.

Q. You are a follower of Ramana Maharshi. What can you say about him?

A. Not only him, I follow every one, Jesus, Allah, Sai Baba, Buddha… all of them have been recognized by public as, gods are they and they are gods. We must feel that we are gods. We must not gain knowledge and remain intellectuals. We must merge in it.

Q. Do you do Yoga and Meditate?

A. Meditation is part of life. Always when you do something you do like meditation by involving yourself in it fully. There is no need to worry about the outside world. If you are happy then you will make others happy too. That is my policy.

Q. Lets talk about movies again. What do you say about awards?

A. In the early stage of your career awards give you encouragement. Now at this stage I am not seeking anything. If I get it I take it. Rehman expected Oscar during “Lagan” time. He did not get it. But now, he did not expect it but he got 2 Oscars. We won’t get it as we are looking for it. That does not mean that if we are not looking for it we will never get it. We must work hard and be sincerely do our work.

Q. Spiritually you have traveled so far but what about your family members?

A. They are also in that path.

Q. When did this spiritual awakening begin?

A. During “Preminchukundam ra” cinema success I traveled all over AP. In that tour the questions “who am I” started.

Nara Rohit maiden film launch on May 4

Former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s brother Nara Rammurthy Naidu’s son Nara Rohit is making debut as hero. Senior producer C Ashwini Dutt who has good track record of launching the careers of Mahesh Babu (Rajakumarudu - maiden film), Ram Charan Teja (Chiruta - first film), NTR (Student No.1 - second film), Kalyan Ram (Abhimanyu), Tarakaratna is producing this film. Chaitanya Dantuluri is making debut as director with this film. The movie will be launched on May 4th. It has music by Manisharma and cinematography by Anil Bhandari. Heroine has not yet been finalized.

Journalist B.A.Raju, director Krish get Dasari Awards

Best Film Journalist award instituted in the name of Dasari Narayana Rao was announced to noted film journalist B.A.Raju for the year 2008. B.A.Raju who has been serving the film industry as reporter, editor and PRO over two decades is to be honored for his contribution to the film industry as journalist. The award carries Rs 1 Lakh Cash prize and a memento.

Along with the Best Film Journalist, two more awards are also given on May 4th – Dasari’s Birthday. Best Director Award would be given to Krish for his film Gamyam while Srikanth Addala of Kotta Bangaru Lokam fame would be honored Best Director (Debut).

Director : V Samudra Story: A political story, the tale begins with Suryanarayana (Jagapathi) who hails from a village and does not have a job but then he has the will to serve the people and stand against wrong activities. His parents (Chalapathi Rao and Annapurna) request the local MLA Sriramulu (Paruchuri) to get Suri a job. With his recommendation, Suri comes to Hyderabad and joins the Chief Minister's (Ahuti Prasad) office as personal secretary to him. In this process, he comes across Rajeshwari (Shraddha) and falls in love with him. Meanwhile, the villain Mahendra's (Anandraj) brother and his friends rape a girl and goes scot free. He is close to the CM and Sriramulu vows to bring them to justice. However, he is killed with a staged accident and then his last wish is to see Suri entering politics. With the support of Sriramulu's wife (Sivaparvathi), Suri becomes an MLA but a twist of incident happens and he ends up becoming the Chief Minister. What happens from there forms the rest of the story. Presentation: The director has come up with a political subject but he has not been upto mark both in the narrative and presentation departments. The dialogues were not that strong, the script was mediocre and the screenplay was not impressive. Even the songs were not that special and it looked like the tunes were hits of yesteryears. Camera could not capture the foreign locations correctly and failed in the long and short frames. Editing was abrupt, costumes were just okay and the art department was alright. Jagapathi Babu did his best to suit the role of CM and did justice, Shraddha Das must improve in dance and expressions, Hamsa looked sensuous and has that appeal in her. Ahuti Prasad was neat, Anandraj was regular, Chalapathi Rao and Annapurna were regular, Krishna Bhagawan managed few light moments. The others did not have much say. Conclusion: The film attempted to show how a common man with good ideals can become a politician and that too a Chief Minister. However, it looked like there were few satires on few political parties and individuals and at the same time, there were few flaws in the making. The first half of the film was quite slow and looked stale in the content and presentation, only the second half has got some momentum but then again the climax gets dragged and then there is a final scene that takes ages to complete. Sizzling Exposure

The initial reports for the film Adhineta are positive and going by these reports the film may do well at the box office. As much as the people are talking of the film, people are also talking of Hamsanandini’s sizzling exposure in the film. The actress has really sizzled with her erotic performance and she is sure to capture a few more roles after this film.

A few critics have said that her exposure is more on the vulgar side, but the actress herself is not bothered. She says that she is happy for the recognition she is getting and now is the time to make a mark in Tollywood. She says that she has a body to expose and she is exposing it.

Lakshmi Prasanna is doing a talk show

Mohan babu’s daughter Lakshmi Prasanna is doing a talk show on Zee TV. This is the second talk which a celebrity is doing in Telugu. If all remember, Ramya Krishna attempted such a show some time ago. Lakshmi’s show has class, and she is getting some of the happening people in Tollywood talk to her.

The Manchu family was her first guests, followed by an interview with V V Vinayak and Y V S Chowdary. Lakshmi has done extensive research, on the background of these celebrities, and seems to be getting the truth out of them. Y V S Chowdary was shell shocked on the show to know the amount of knowledge Lakshmi Prasanna has gathered about his past.

Actor-filmmaker Feroz Khan passes away

Bollywood actor-director Feroz Khan, who made a place in the hearts of film lovers with his romantic portrayals in blockbusters like 'Qurbani' and 'Janbaaz,' died on Monday after battling cancer for a year.

The 69-year-old actor-filmmaker died at 1:30 am at his farmhouse in Bangalore. He was diagnosed with cancer a year ago and was being treated at a Mumbai hospital.

His son and actor Fardeen Khan besides some other family members were at his bedside when the end came.

The actor's mortal remains would be buried at his farm house later in the day as per his last wishes Born and brought up in Bangalore, the Bollywood actor first made his mark in 1965 when his film 'Oonche Log' clicked with the audience. He then went on to woo the audience with the mushy musical 'Arzoo' where he played a sacrificing lover.

But the biggest hit of his career was 'Qurbani' opposite Zeenat Aman.

In 1986, he directed and starred in 'Janbaaz' which was a box office hit. After he directed and starred in 'Yalghaar' in 1992, the charismatic actor took a long break from acting and took to producing and directing films.

He launched his son Fardeen Khan with the 1998 film 'Prem Aggan,' which bombed at the box office.

He was last seen on the screen in the 2007 hit 'Welcome'.

Hrithik Roshan is in news once again! And this time for swearing some indecent words. The actor has been caught using all the wrong words and the act is now all over the Internet!

A latest video on the Internet that is being downloaded frantically by Hrithik's fans has caught the Roshan lad swearing away to glory and is causing much disdain to the perfection seeking actor.

What was meant to be a silly joke is now turning sour for the superstar. The incident happened on the sets of the film Kites where Hrithik was rehearsing for a song with his choreographer Flexy Stu.

The clip has already got over 5000 hits. Sources claim that the video was uploaded on the Internet by none other than Flexi as he was later dumped by Hrithik for not doing a good job on the movie.

But the damage seems to have been done as Hrithik has been flooded with hate mails from fans.

Veedokkade on May Day

Tamil actor Surya is back. After Surya S/O Krishnan, he comes up now with action entertainer titled Veedokkade, dubbed version of his successful Tamil flick, Ayan. AVM has produced it, while renowned cinematographer K V Anand (of Shivaji fame) directed the movie. AVM is releasing it in Telugu with the help of Suresh Movies. A press meet was held on Saturday evening (April 18, 2009) at Prasad Preview Theatre in Hyderabad to talk about the movie. Surya, heroine Tamannah, AVM’s Saravanan, and guest from Tollywood director Sekhar Kammula attended the press meet.

Shot in Yamakasi style: Surya

Surya said Veedokkade is very special movie in his career. “Veedokkade is my 23rd film. It is dubbed version of my film, Ayan in Tamil and it broke some records. In fact, it is biggest hit in my career so far. It collected double the revenue of what my Ghajini did in Tamilnadu. So the movie’s success is very precious to me. I am sure that the Telugu version too would be liked by the audiences here. It is not regular commercial entertainer. A very realistic action movie. I don’t normally come here to promote my films if it is regular movie; I do only if it is really good flick,” Surya said about Veedokkade.

He also said that the movie’s action episodes are designed in Yamakasi style. “Perhaps this is the first film in India shot in Yamakasi style (French street fights and acrobatics). We have roped in a Hollywood technician for action episodes and shot mostly in Africa and Malaysia. Director K V Anand sir incorporated realistic elements in action episodes and made the movie a different mass movie,” he said.

He also said that he would definitely do a straight Telugu film. “But I am looking for a script that should be a very unique. I want my first straight Telugu movie to be a very special one,” he added.

Happy Days in Tamil for me: Tamannah

Tamannah who played the romantic interest to Surya in the movie shared her happiness too. “The movie is a big hit in Tamilnadu. How I got my first major break in Telugu with Happy Days, Ayan in Tamil brought me huge recognition. After release, I saw the movie first at a small theatre in Pollachi and found people going in hysteria. Later I saw the same reaction from Mumbai theatre crowds. This is the first time that I am working in such a huge mass action entertainer and I could see how a mass movie creates impact on audiences,” Tamannah said.

174th film for AVM: Saravanan

Producer AVM Saravanan said that they are planning to release the movie on May 1st in more than 200 theatres. “The movie in Tamilnadu is doing extremely well. After Rajnikant’s Shivaji, which we released, it is the only movie that is pulling such huge crowds in recent times. I hope the same magic here in Andhra Pradesh,” Saravanan told the media.

Tamannah career in doldrums!

Last year, Tamannah’s career seemed so bright and prosperous. She was touted to be the next big thing. She was in the race for top slot with her right combination of sexy body and coy looks. Look now, what has happened to her career. After the blockbuster Happy Days, Tamannah has come up with several films including some dubbed Tamil movies but none of the created bang at Box-office. Even her recent big budgeted Telugu film – Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam and much-hyped Ananda Thandavam, a film where she is said to have “a tailor made powerful role”, failed big time.

Pawan joins shoot from Apr 3rd week

Pawan Kalyan who fainted while addressing a meeting at Amberpet in Hyderabad has now been recovered. He spoke to leading news channel - TV9 at his hospital room on various topics including his current movie Puli. When asked when would he start shooting for his movie, he said: “I am committed to canvass for Praja Rajyam till second phase polling - April 23rd. Then I would immediately join the shooting of Puli.”

He is also confident that his brother megastar Chiranjeevi will emerge as winner in these polls despite surveys predicting Chiru’s defeat. “Those (surveys) have no validity. In India, most of pre-polls surveys by media miss the real picture. Look what happened in the last elections, majority of them predicted NDA’s win but Congress finally came to power. So don’t worry about these surveys. We are confident of winning thumping majority,” he said.

He also stated that he would continue shooting for films even if Chiru comes to power.

Rajnikant’s tussle with 300 fighters

Currently a very lavish scene is being captured for Shankar and Rajanikant’s magnum opus Robot at Ramoji Film City. Filming of the fight sequence has begun on Wednesday under the direction of action choreographer Peter Heins. About 300 fighters are being involved in the fight along with Rajnikant and Aishwarya Rai. Peter Heins who was recently injured in an accident is making it look like a Hollywood or Hong Kong action movie. It is said to be crucial fight sequence in the film and they are doing it in gigantic manner.

On other hand, Ash took off time from the schedule and went to Chennai to meet Maniratnam who is recuperating from mild heart attack in Apollo Hospital.

Daggubati Rana’s debut movie ‘Leader’ is now in making and inside sources say that it will be on the lines of ‘Yuva’. Rana’s role will be a mixture of both Siddartha and Surya in Yuva, say close sources. The still given here is from the film ‘Leader’ where Rana performed in a hospital scene with an injury. Madhavi Lata is in ‘love’ with Naani!

Madhavi Latha (of Nachchavule fame) and Naani (of Ashta Chemma fame) are paired up together in a new film being produced by Satyam Entertainments. This romantic entertainer primarily focuses on love and its facets. Directed by Satyam Bellamkonda, the film has completed 70 percent of shoot and is scheduled for May end release.

“We haven’t yet titled the film but it is a romantic entertainer so we are looking for a beautiful romantic title. The film deals various facets of love. Although it is love story, it can be watched by family audiences as we have all the ingredients to suit wide spectrum of audiences,” says director Satyam.

Kajal or Ileana: Who'll get chance with Prabhas?

Prabhas who is currently shooting for Puri Jagannadh’s Ek Niranjan will be doing two more movies this year. One is for producer Dil Raju which will be directed by Dasaradh. And the movie will commence its shooting from July 1st week. For this movie, producer Dil Raju is now scouting for lead heroine. It will be either Kajal or Ileana - depending on the availability of their dates. Currently negotiations are on. Dasaradh has now finished the entire script, which is said to have come out so good. It will give Prabhas a complete new look and image. Producer Dil Raju is confident that he would be delivering another hit with this film.

Mahesh to do two films together

Sensing the delay happening in between the releases of his movies, Mahesh Babu has taken a nice decision to do two movies together. Right now he is acting in Varudu in the direction of Trivikram. Jagapati Babu’s political film is all set to release in Andhra Pradesh on 24 April just a day after the elections in AP are over. This film features Shraddha Das as heroine. Hamsa Nandini and Neelima (granddaughter of V Madhusudhan Rao) play other important roles. Samudra is directing movie. Paruchuri brothers scripted the story and dialogues. This movie is about a common man becoming chief minister.
